La mayor\u00eda de nuestros estudiantes se unen a nuestros bootcamps para cambiar de carrera, lo que puede ser muy desalentador. Este es el caso de Mar\u00eda Corredor, quien se gradu\u00f3 en 2022 de nuestro bootcamp de Data Science. Despu\u00e9s de trabajar como ingeniera y jefa de proyecto durante algunos a\u00f1os, Mar\u00eda decidi\u00f3 aprender Data Science y cambiar de carrera. Esta es su historia.<\/div>\n

\u00bfQu\u00e9 estabas haciendo antes de unirte a Le Wagon?<\/strong><\/div>\n
Estudi\u00e9 Ingenier\u00eda en Electr\u00f3nica Industrial en la Universidad Carlos III de Madrid. Luego me incorpor\u00e9 a una empresa, Elecnor, primero como ingeniera de automatizaci\u00f3n y luego como jefa de proyecto. Me qued\u00e9 en la empresa durante m\u00e1s de tres a\u00f1os, antes de hacer el bootcamp.<\/div>\n

El de Ciencia de Datos.<\/div>\n

\u00bfQu\u00e9 te hizo decidirte a hacer el bootcamp?<\/strong><\/div>\n
Estudi\u00e9 C++ durante mi carrera universitaria, pero fue bastante desafiante. Luego, en mi primer trabajo como ingeniera de automatizaci\u00f3n, empec\u00e9 a programar cosas f\u00e1ciles y me di cuenta de que me gustaba mucho programar, especialmente la parte creativa, lo que puedes lograr con eso. Pero luego, pas\u00e9 a la gesti\u00f3n de proyectos y realmente no me gustaba lo que estaba haciendo. Echaba de menos la programaci\u00f3n. As\u00ed que empec\u00e9 a investigar. Investigu\u00e9 lo que pod\u00eda estudiar. Busqu\u00e9 varios Masters, por ejemplo, pero no quer\u00eda volver a la universidad. Quer\u00eda algo r\u00e1pido y pr\u00e1ctico. Fue entonces cuando me encontr\u00e9 con el modelo bootcamp. Me postul\u00e9 al bootcamp de Data Science unos meses m\u00e1s tarde y cuando estuve lista, renunci\u00e9 a mi trabajo.<\/div>\n

S\u00ed mucho. Realmente tienes que salir de tu zona de confort, tomar un nuevo camino, y cuando tomas esa decisi\u00f3n, no est\u00e1s segura de c\u00f3mo va a terminar. Ahora puedo re\u00edrme de eso, pero en ese momento, era bastante aterrador.<\/div>\n

Recientemente encontr\u00e9 un trabajo como especialista en IA (inteligencia artificial) en una empresa llamada TheCodeLives, y me encanta. Este campo es fascinante y tengo muy buenas condiciones de trabajo. Puede parecer aterrador, pero da el paso. Existe una necesidad tan grande de talento en Data Science en este momento y una gran variedad de oportunidades que todos pueden encontrar su lugar en el mercado laboral. Todos los antecedentes son bienvenidos. La curva de aprendizaje en el bootcamp es incre\u00edble: aprendes en 9 semanas lo que podr\u00edas aprender en un a\u00f1o en la Universidad. En mi entrevista final, el cofundador dijo que quer\u00eda contratarme no por lo que sab\u00eda, sino por la forma en que pensaba y aprehend\u00eda lo que no sab\u00eda.
