What were you doing before Le Wagon and what led you to enroll?
I had previously worked as a Project Manager in real estate development back in New York City for over five years. I have always had an interest in web development and dabbled in it sporadically. I had learned Flash in college and then had taken a front-end web course four years ago while I was working full-time in order to re-design a website for the company I worked for. When I moved to London last year, I wanted to do something different. I thought about all the experiences I have had and which ones I had enjoyed the most. I had really enjoyed coding and decided to take a look at full stack tech bootcamps. Since I had gone to a competitor for my front end class so many years ago, I had wanted to check out other options. While the front end course I had taken was good, I could have done without all the fancy free snacks that were obviously built into the tuition. All the great reviews about Le Wagon really peaked my interest. I decided to enroll after I toured the place and met with Ed.
Did you have any difficulties with learning during the Bootcamp, and (if so) how did you get over them?
The bootcamp was probably one of the most mentally taxing experiences I have ever had. It was like a mental marathon for 9 weeks. The only way for me to get over the difficulties was to try as hard I could every day to understand the concepts even if that meant I couldn’t finish the challenges. I also made sure to give myself a break at night so I could get the adequate sleep required for my brain to process all this new information. On the weekends, I would try to re-watch one lecture, if possible.
How did you stay motivated throughout the course?
I tried to stay focused on my goal, which was to learn the material and not beat myself up if I felt like I was doing the challenges at a slower pace compared to everyone else. I think seeing how dedicated the people in my batch also helped motivate me.
What was the best part of your bootcamp experience?
The community at Le Wagon has been really great. I had moved to London knowing almost no one and although I’ve been able to make friends on my own, I haven’t been able to make so many friends at once from such different backgrounds.
What’s your experience post Le Wagon? What are you doing now? How long did it take you to find a job afterwards?

What was the most valuable takeaway from Le Wagon for you?
If there is something you want to do, do it! Don’t make excuses. Don’t put it off.
