Essa mesma pergunta tamb\u00e9m vem nas formas: O que devo aprender primeiro? Python ou PHP? Ruby ou JavaScript? <\/em>Se voc\u00ea est\u00e1 se fazendo essas perguntas, voc\u00ea est\u00e1 se fazendo as perguntas erradas<\/strong>!\r\n\r\n<\/div>\r\n
J\u00e1 estou ouvindo o estimado leitor perguntar: \u201cE qual a pergunta certa ent\u00e3o, sabich\u00e3o?\u201d\r\n<\/em><\/div>\r\n
Permita-me fazer um pequeno suspense antes de responder, senta a\u00ed e me acompanha no racioc\u00ednio:\r\n\r\n<\/div>\r\n

1 \u2014Dom\u00ednio de uma (ou mais) linguagens de programa\u00e7\u00e3o \u00e9 apenas uma pequena parte do cinto de ferramentas de um bom programador.<\/h3>\r\n
\u00a0Se voc\u00ea est\u00e1 alimentando a ilus\u00e3o de que vai fazer um curso para se especializar em uma linguagem X e acha que isso vai ser suficiente pra construir uma carreira neste mundo, o senhor ou a senhora est\u00e3o estrogonoficamente enganados. Um bom programador (ou programadora) \u00e9 antes de tudo um bom resolvedor de problemas<\/strong>. Ele \u00e9 organizado<\/strong> e sabe trabalhar de forma colaborativa<\/strong>. Ele desenvolveu seu racioc\u00edcio l\u00f3gico<\/strong> e consegue quebrar um problema conceitual gigamonstro em uma s\u00e9rie de instru\u00e7\u00f5es concretas e precisas \u2014 o famoso computational thinking <\/em>da Jeannette Wing. Ele \u00e9 curioso<\/strong>, sabe aprender, \u00e9 na maior parte do tempo auto-didata<\/strong> e por causa disso adquiriu uma boa base te\u00f3rica<\/strong>.\r\n\r\n<\/div>\r\n
Ent\u00e3o, se voc\u00ea come\u00e7a sua jornada se perguntando qual linguagem voc\u00ea deve aprender, talvez voc\u00ea n\u00e3o esteja ciente disso ou dando o devido valor a outros pontos que voc\u00ea deveria levar em considera\u00e7\u00e3o na escolha de um caminho. Como desenvolver aquelas habilidades que destaquei ali em cima? Voc\u00ea pensou sobre isso?\r\n\r\n<\/div>\r\n

2\u2013Nenhum dev que se preze se contenta em saber apenas uma linguagem.<\/h3>\r\n
Se voc\u00ea tem s\u00f3 um martelo, todos os seus problemas v\u00e3o ter cara de prego. Um bom dev \u00e9 vers\u00e1til. Sabe escolher a ferramenta mais adequada de acordo com a cara do problema. Se preciso for, ele \u00e9 capaz at\u00e9 de aprender uma nova linguagem do zero. Se voc\u00ea \u00e9 bom em teoria musical, aprender um segundo ou terceiro instrumento \u00e9 mam\u00e3o com a\u00e7\u00facar... voc\u00ea n\u00e3o vai precisar decorar todas as escalas de novo. No mundo da programa\u00e7\u00e3o \u00e9 a mesma coisa, muitos dos conhecimentos s\u00e3o transfer\u00edveis para uma nova linguagem, preocupe-se em ter um bom dom\u00ednio sobre estes conceitos b\u00e1sicos e voc\u00ea estar\u00e1 pavimentando um futuro com mais possibilidades pra voc\u00ea.\r\n\r\n<\/div>\r\n
Assim como no mundo da m\u00fasica, se voc\u00ea quer ser bom em programa\u00e7\u00e3o \u00e9 preciso se preparar para uma vida de eterno estudo. Se voc\u00ea acredita em solu\u00e7\u00e3o milagrosa, acha que do dia pra noite vai aprender tudo o que precisa pra se tornar um programador topster, talvez haja outras carreiras mais adequadas ao seu perfil<\/a>.\r\n\r\n<\/div>\r\n

3\u2013Programar vai muuuito al\u00e9m de simplesmente caga\u2026 er\u2026 cuspir linhas de c\u00f3digo.<\/h3>\r\n
Mitchel Resnick, Professor do MIT Media Lab e pai do Scratch<\/a> costuma comparar o ato de programar ao ato de escrever. Segundo ele, a escrita e a programa\u00e7\u00e3o s\u00e3o, antes de tudo, ferramentas de express\u00e3o<\/strong>. Ainda segundo ele, a flu\u00eancia em programa\u00e7\u00e3o n\u00e3o significa apenas entender alguns conceitos avan\u00e7ados ou estrat\u00e9gias de resolu\u00e7\u00e3o de problemas mas sim possuir tamb\u00e9m a habilidade de se expressar usando as ferramentas digitais. Quando a gente olha pra produtos como o Facebook, Uber ou iPhone, eles s\u00e3o a mais pura express\u00e3o da vis\u00e3o de mundo de seus criadores.\r\n\r\n<\/div>\r\n

4 \u2014 Conhecimento fica obsoleto. Habilidades n\u00e3o.<\/h3>\r\n
Linguagens evoluem, novas tecnologias surgem todos os dias e tamb\u00e9m todos os dias um tanto de outras tecnologias v\u00e3o parar no pa\u00eds das coisas que ningu\u00e9m lembra #sddsflash. Modinhas passam. As \u00fanicas duas coisas que a gente pode afirmar com certeza que v\u00e3o ficar para sempre s\u00e3o as habilidades que voc\u00ea desenvolveu ao longo de sua vida e o especial de fim de ano do Roberto Carlos na Globo.\r\n\r\n<\/div>\r\n
\r\n\r\nSaber comunicar bem, negociar, resolver problema, trabalhar em conjunto, respeitar o coleguinha nunca vai sair de moda.\r\n

N\u00e3o amig\u00e3o, estou dizendo que esta n\u00e3o deve ser a sua ~principal~ preocupa\u00e7\u00e3o na hora de definir o seu caminho (falo mais sobre estas op\u00e7\u00f5es de caminho neste outro texto). A linguagem \u00e9 apenas uma das coisas que voc\u00ea deve colocar em sua balan\u00e7a.\r\n\r\n<\/div>\r\n
O que estou tentando dizer \u00e9 que, na minha humilde opini\u00e3o, mais importante do que a linguagem, \u00e9 buscar desenvolver aquelas outras habilidades que falei ali em cima.\r\n\r\n<\/div>\r\n

Bom, vamos l\u00e1: acredito muito no aprender fazendo, ningu\u00e9m aprende a programar s\u00f3<\/em> lendo livros (bota reparo na palavra s\u00f3). Agora sim respondendo \u00e0 pergunta l\u00e1 de cima: Voc\u00ea tem um amigo ou amiga que programa? Cola nele e come\u00e7a a estudar a linguagem em que ele \u00e9 mais ninja, troque mentorias por cerveja, fa\u00e7a projetos, pe\u00e7a dicas. Tem algum meetup de dev movimentado em sua cidade? Cola nos cara e fa\u00e7a perguntas, pe\u00e7a dicas, mentorias. Entenderam? O mais importante \u00e9 fazer, \u00e9 tentar criar situa\u00e7\u00f5es em que v\u00e1 estar aplicando seus conhecimentos pra criar coisas e solucionar problemas reais (ou apenas se divertir). Assim como no exemplo do instrumento musical que dei l\u00e1 em cima, ningu\u00e9m aprende a programar sem colocar a m\u00e3o na massa e \u00e9 assim, recebendo mentorias, ouvindo feedbacks, trocando ideias, que voc\u00ea vai em grande parte desenvolver sua capacidade de organiza\u00e7\u00e3o, colabora\u00e7\u00e3o, comunicar sobre uma ideia tecnol\u00f3gica, negocia\u00e7\u00e3o e por a\u00ed vai.\r\n\r\n<\/div>\r\n
