Learning in a hands-on environment
Coline joined the Data Analytics bootcamp at Le Wagon Montréal with a clear goal: learning how to handle and analyze data in a practical, real-world setting.
“I was looking for a short, in-person program that would allow me to practice directly in a team.”
During the bootcamp, she mainly developed her skills in SQL and Power BI, two tools she still uses today.
Among her best memories, one moment stands out: Demo Day, the final day of the bootcamp.
“It was a mix of excitement and stress, but above all, it was a powerful realization of everything we had learned in just two months. That day, you really understand the extent of the skills you’ve gained.”

A new job connected to her final project
Shortly after graduating, Coline found a job directly related to her final bootcamp project.
“After the bootcamp, I started applying to positions on LinkedIn. Luckily, I got an interview for a real estate analyst role, which was perfectly aligned with our final project that focused on data analysis applied to real estate.”
For those starting their job search after the bootcamp, her advice is straightforward:
“I often hear that networking is the best way to find a job, and I deeply believe that. That said, I also think there’s an element of luck in the process. Don’t hesitate to apply to positions that appeal to you, even if you don’t meet all the listed requirements.”
Putting skills into practice every day
In her current role as a Risk and Real Estate Analyst at Lallemand, Coline directly applies the skills she acquired during the program.
“I use Power BI to create dashboards and visualize data. I also have a mandate to consolidate and structure information, which allows me to put into practice the skills I gained at the bootcamp.”
Looking back, she clearly sees how the bootcamp acted as a springboard:
“I thought I would fully move into a data role, but the bootcamp helped me discover a genuine interest in real estate. It prepared me for my career by combining data analysis, which helps me better understand the information around me and make informed decisions, with a concrete approach through the final project.”
Today, even if she doesn’t work exclusively in data, she finds these skills to be a valuable asset in her daily work to structure information and better interpret data.
Her advice for future data professionals
“Stay open to opportunities, even those that don’t seem to match your original profile perfectly. And above all, keep in mind that data is everywhere. Knowing how to use it is an advantage in almost every field.”
