At Le Wagon, our goal is to set people up for success in their tech careers. On top of teaching students on-demand technical skills, we prepare them for the job market with the appropriate resources and network. That’s why knowing that 97% of our students found a job six months after graduating
makes us incredibly proud!
So, how do we prepare students for the job market? And who are the companies that recruit our graduates? Let’s dive in!
Why do companies hire bootcamp graduates?
According to this recent survey
, the percentage of recruiters hiring developers from non-academic backgrounds has almost doubled in just one year. Alternatives to universities, like coding bootcamps, have increasingly established themselves as a successful path to land a job in the tech sector. Here’s why.
The training goes beyond learning coding skills. At Le Wagon, we’re obsessed with soft skills and product mindset. When students join the training, they pick up technical skills, but also learn to collaborate with a team, master git and version control, and put the users’ needs at the center of their projects. Employers value these skills A LOT.
They know how to learn. The most valuable competencies that our graduates take away from our training are the ability to think like a developer or a data scientist, break down problems, and use technology to find solutions. At the end of the program, they’re autonomous enough to work on new projects and pick up more skills on their own.
What kind of career support does Le Wagon provide?
Whether they’re learning web development
or data science
, we offer students a career week to equip them for the following stages of their professional life.
It consists of workshops and practical resources to optimize their LinkedIn and GitHub profiles, update their CV, create a first portfolio, and prepare for technical interviews. We invite web developers, product managers, data experts, and recruiters to talk about their experience and share advice. We also organize a recruiting session spread over a day for students to meet with our recruiting partners and learn about job openings.
The career week is an excellent opportunity for Le Wagon graduates to immerse themselves in the tech job market and boost their confidence. Now, let’s see which companies have hired them.
