When Ameesha Kumar finished her BBA, one idea stood out: breaking into IT. She didn’t yet know where to start—only that she needed a strong immersion, well-recognized, and in English. Destination Tokyo for Le Wagon’s Web Development bootcamp, now the AI Software Development Bootcamp. Two and a half months later, express return to Paris… and a trajectory that accelerated: apprenticeship signed at L’Oréal and position secured as IT Project Manager on ServiceNow. “Intense, but amazing,” she sums up.
The trigger came from one clear goal: “move into IT,” but with structure. The organization impressed her. The structured pedagogy, with guides and videos accessible long-term, enables effective learning during the intensive. And sustainable: she still consults her course materials today when she needs to consolidate a concept, verify a method or level up. For Ameesha, this combination of immersion/English/accreditation + batch + resources made the difference: learn fast, retain long-term, and be recognized. “Intense, but incredibly stimulating.”
During the final projects, two mentors helped her define her playground. Ameesha loves to decide, organize, deliver: she first oriented toward front-end, then naturally shifted toward project management. Concretely, she ticked the key expectations of employers: HTML/CSS/JavaScript to design responsive and interactive interfaces; Git/GitHub and professional workflows to collaborate cleanly in teams; MVC model, Ruby/Rails and SQL databases to think in architecture and manipulate data; APIs and service integration to connect software components; UX/UI and design to transform business needs into clear user journeys; and now, AI integration (LLMs), RAG and AI-assisted coding to gain speed and relevance on modern use cases.
Result: when applying for jobs, she knew how to bridge product-tech, speak data, APIs and JS with developers, prioritize like a PM, and deploy a deliverable in real conditions: the “boxes” sought in junior job descriptions/Product Manager/Product Owner, with an AI edge that immediately set her apart.
Back in Paris, she aimed for a master’s degree through apprenticeship. Le Wagon’s career team advised her, directed her to a partner school so she could access the desired apprenticeship, and thus completed the “final link” that L’Oréal required of her. Bottom line: contract closed in one week. “I owe a lot to Le Wagon for the position I have today.”
At L’Oréal, Ameesha is IT Project Manager/Product Owner on ServiceNow (low-code). She doesn’t “code all day,” but she reads code, checks JavaScript scripts, diagnoses APIs (Postman), challenges developments and paces delivery. Placed in a team of engineers, she quickly gained credibility: “You learn this in engineering school; coming from a bootcamp and doing the same thing gave me a real boost.”
Day before Demo Day: their AI app derails, tokens and API calls collapse. Ameesha has her design ready, everyone’s tasks broken down… but the app no longer runs. The mentors spend hours with the backend team; she maintains the product line and the experience to present: “At least we could show something.” That day, she embraced her profile: Product Management and front-end, clarifying under pressure, holding the demo.
Her goal wasn’t to become a “software engineer”; it was to acquire solid tech fluency: read, test, speak API/JS, collaborate as an equal with developers. The bootcamp gave her the fundamentals and above all reflexes: search, iterate, return to the content when needed. Intense, yes, but sustainably useful.
