Arthur: From lawyer to AI developer at Ubisoft

When Arthur graduated from law school after five years of study, the professional world didn't quite match his expectations. So at 25, he made what he calls "a small reorientation" towards Tech. That decision would lead him through two Le Wagon bootcamps and into Ubisoft's AI department, where he now builds internal AI tools for one of the world's largest gaming companies.

The first leap: Software development as a career launchpad

In 2018, Arthur enrolled in Le Wagon’s Web Development bootcamp in Bordeaux. The teaching methodology immediately clicked: 90 minutes of theory each morning, then hands-on practice until 7 PM, working in pairs with rotating partners.

“I really loved that aspect: we’re going to teach you things, but we’re not going to pressure you. Have fun with it. It’s playful, especially when you’re going back to school at 25.”

What made it work: Le Wagon’s project-based curriculum (over 90% practical work) meant Arthur wasn’t just learning theory. He was building actual web applications, working with real tools, and developing the kind of portfolio that gets you hired.

The bootcamp became his entry point to Ubisoft. The legal department needed someone who could automate their processes, someone who understood both law and code. Arthur was the perfect fit.

Four years later: Doubling down on AI

By 2023, AI was transforming the tech landscape. Arthur saw an opportunity to specialise and proposed that Ubisoft fund his training through Le Wagon’s Data Science & AI bootcamp.

They didn’t just agree… they funded the entire programme and gave him two months off to study full-time.

“Ubisoft paid for the whole thing and gave me the opportunity to be full-time at Le Wagon for two months so I could train and then come back with this expertise.”

Having already seen the ROI from Arthur’s first bootcamp, Ubisoft trusted the quality of the training. This speaks to Le Wagon’s reputation among employers, ranked #1 worldwide by Course Report, Switchup, and Career Karma, with a 4.98/5 rating from 6,000+ reviews.

From experiment to company-wide initiative

When Arthur returned with his AI training, he started integrating AI tools into the legal department. The results caught attention across Ubisoft.

“Marketing came to see us. Finance came. Even customer support. People said, okay, you’re doing this for legal, that’s great. Can we imagine something more global for all of Ubisoft?”

At the beginning of 2025, Arthur’s small experiment became the AI Initiative Department: ten people focused entirely on AI integration across Ubisoft’s support functions.

The toolbox that keeps on giving

Ask Arthur what made Le Wagon work, and he returns to the same theme: they gave him a learning framework, not just a set of tools.

“When I need to do pure development, it’s Ruby and Rails. When I’m doing programming or working on integration, it’s Python. Today, 95% of the tools I use are the ones I learned there.”

He’s explored other languages —Rust, Go— but the real skill wasn’t any specific stack.

“Thanks to Le Wagon’s method, when I want to dive into a new language today, it’s much easier. I apply the same structures and learning patterns.”

Le Wagon’s AI Software Development bootcamp now integrates AI from day one, teaching students not just to code, but to collaborate with AI tools professionally, the exact skills Arthur uses daily at Ubisoft.

The community factor

Arthur was so impressed with his first bootcamp that he became a teaching assistant afterwards.

“I was so delighted by Le Wagon that I decided to become a teacher assistant. It lasted about six months. It’s to show how much there’s really a family aspect that you can quickly fall into.”

Now as a Le Wagon alumni, he gets permanent access to course materials, ongoing career support, and a global network of 31,000+ alumni. Arthur still references the materials and stays connected to the community years later.

Before and after

There’s a clear dividing line in Arthur’s career: before Le Wagon and after.

“I owe a bit of my entire trajectory to Le Wagon. It’s thanks to them that I could get into Ubisoft, develop new skills, and approach problems differently.”

His path proves that career changes don’t have to be all or nothing. Arthur didn’t abandon his legal background, he built on it. The combination of legal knowledge and technical skills made him uniquely valuable.

“Even the second time, past 30, when I had to go back to school with that slight pressure, it went super well, both humanly and technically. And even the after, the Le Wagon alumni community works really well today.”

At 34, Arthur continues to evolve with Ubisoft’s AI landscape, armed with the foundation Le Wagon gave him. Twice!
