Here’s why Le Wagon is one of the best places to learn code as a part-time online student!

"Our TAs and community managers organize some events and 1:1 calls to support us throughout the pandemic. I guess joining the bootcamp during the pandemic is one of the best decisions I’ve ever made. Probably, my days at home couldn’t be more productive: #StayAtHome and learn to code!" - discover Onur's experience!
Summary
I’m an SEO Manager with a background in digital marketing and attended Galatasaray University in Turkey for my undergrad and TH Köln in Germany for grad school. I’ve been living in Germany for almost five years and I’m currently based in Cologne.

Throughout my professional career, I have always been in contact with developers in my projects and used to envy the ability to create a website or web app from scratch. I used to think it was kind of magic - now I know that it’s not magic, but shh don’t tell anyone .
Onur working from home!
Before the bootcamp, I had a basic knowledge of HTML and CSS but it never went beyond making some small changes in others’ codes. Due to the pandemic I decided to take the initiative and started looking for coding bootcamps. The dream of working as a freelancer from wherever and whenever I please was the biggest motivation for me.

“So, I’ve collected syllabuses from different bootcamps and shared them with my friends who are experienced in web development. Le Wagon was by far the most promising among all. Also, Le Wagon’s part-time program suited me perfectly as I have a full-time job. “

I was looking for different bootcamps and websites, and to be honest, I wasn’t sure how to find which bootcamp was best for me. So, I’ve collected syllabuses from different bootcamps and shared them with my friends who are experienced in web development. Le Wagon was by far the most promising among all. Also, Le Wagon’s part-time program suited me perfectly as I have a full-time job.

The best part of the bootcamp is, at Le Wagon you are not treated as just a student, but a member of a huge family. You start feeling this from the very first moment and I think this is very important especially if you are new to coding and trying to learn it as an online student. I would have felt very lonely and probably given up long before without the support of my buddies, TAs and other community members.

During recent months, there were some moments where I had felt exhausted by all the hard work we have done. Today, when I look back, I’m filled with joy and highly motivated by the desire for keeping up the good work after the bootcamp.

“Since all of our TAs were once a student (IMHO, this is awesome and helped me to stay motivated!) and experienced the same ups and downs, so these were not just motivational speeches, but rather facts as proved by their experience.”

I faced a couple of challenged during my time at Le Wagon, the name speaks for itself - it’s called “bootcamp” for a reason . Everytime we felt down or had difficulties, our TAs advised us to trust the process. Since all of our TAs were once a student (IMHO, this is awesome and helped me to stay motivated!) and experienced the same ups and downs, so these were not just motivational speeches, but rather facts as proved by their experience.

The pandemic did not really influence my experience at Le Wagon, because Le Wagon has got everything covered perfectly. Our TAs and community managers organize some events and 1:1 calls to support us throughout the pandemic. I guess joining the bootcamp during the pandemic is one of the best decisions I’ve ever made. Probably, my days at home couldn’t be more productive -> #StayAtHome and learn to code!

There are plenty of opportunities I’d like to pursue after Le Wagon, but I would like to seek out challenges to gain more experience in coding and take part in different projects either as a freelancer or fulltimer.

"My advice for anyone thinking of joining the part-time bootcamp during the pandemic is: If you are looking for new opportunities in your life, don’t wait for it, go and create it. Le Wagon is one of the best places to learn code as an online student. Just give it a go, you won't regret it! "
