The world’s most acclaimed coding bootcamp Le Wagon announces that all its Web Development and Data Science programs in Tokyo have been officially certified by the Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry of Japan as 4th Industrial Revolution Skills Courses.

Launched in 2013 in Paris, Le Wagon is a top-ranked coding bootcamp, established in 42 cities worldwide. The Tokyo chapter was launched in 2016, and already trained over 300 students through its full-time and part-time web development and data science bootcamps.

To become certified, Le Wagon Tokyo passed a rigorous certification process essential to help ensure its curriculum and learning environment are at the highest industry levels. The official recognition reinforces Le Wagon Tokyo’s determination to play a vital role in preparing Japanese workforce for the jobs of the future.

“Our bootcamps help develop soft and hard skills that make people more versatile and able to participate fully in the fourth industrial revolution economy, whether working for a business or starting one of their own,” says Sylvain Pierre, CEO and co-founder of Le Wagon Tokyo, “and now we have an official certification to verify this”.

According to the World Economic Forum’s “The Future of Jobs Report: 2020”, 94% of business leaders report that they expect employees to pick up new skills on the job, a sharp uptake from 65% in 2018. New workforce trends are reshaping the nature of work and jobs across industries, and skills tied to tech roles, such as data, artificial intelligence, and software development, will be especially sought-after in years to come.

Fourth Industrial Revolution Skills Courses is a Certification program run by the Minister of Economy, Trade and Industry of Japan from January 2018. It certifies practical educational courses targeting workers mainly in the IT and data fields in which future growth is highly anticipated and the creation of new employment is forecasted. The program provides opportunities for such workers to acquire advanced expertise and knowledge, and to advance their careers.
